Last week I was invited along to the world's most luxurious department store Harrods for a press event with a difference. I say difference but what I really mean is golf (I am a below novice standard). The purpose of the evening was to showcase how to bring fashion to the fairway!
With the likes of high profile stars such as Catherine Zeta-Jones who always looks stylish on the course, its easy to see how the fashion stakes on the fairway are on the rise.
Whilst at the event guest were introduced to such brands as J. Linberg, Aquascutum Golf, Hugo Boss, Golfino, Ralph Lauren, Porsche Design Sport, Chervo, Callaway, Tommy Hilfiger, but to name a few. What these brands all had in common were golfing attire that were both practical and stylish and would look good at a casual lunch or on a golf course.
During the evening guests also had the chance to meet Golfing Pro Nick Dougherty and test our swing in the golf simulator. The highlight for me was viewing the world's most expensive golf club, encrusted with diamonds (which of course) is exclusive to Harrods and was standing proud in its glass display case along with a security guard.
Diamond encrusted golf club! |
What did we learn? Well that fashion on the fairway for both men and women has reached a new level, that they are versatile, can be worn as part of your every day wardrobe and the final thing 'I' learnt is that I will never be able to afford that golf club.
Great night and very informative.....
