CHRISTOPHER SHANNON A/W 11/12

'HOLD YER HEAD UP'

Was the name of the collection and working with classic casuals silhouettes A/W 11 sees Christopher Shannon infusing looks with worldly inspired fabrics from his ongoing interest in photojournalism and photographers such as Pieter Hugo and Sirkka-LiisanKonttinen.  As a lifelong fan of David Attenbourough, Shannon has used the TV series Human Planet as a source of inspiration, noting that wherever in the world you look, sportswear seems to always creep in.  Old track tops that have ended up in landfill sites worn by tribes alongside hand crafted, traditional garments.

This season's prints are bolder, more abstract and have been worked into many of the accessories.  Fabrics range from clean nylons and cottons to heavily embellished woven blanket fabrics.  For the first time blacks & patterns play a large part in the collection's palette.

Great collection! Bond Street meets Peru.........
