Lee Cooper launches AW14 campaign

Continuing their on-going support of talented and emerging Makers, Lee Cooper’s AW14 campaign focuses on a specific group of creatives, Music Makers. This season they are celebrating the fact that Lee Cooper makes clothes to live in, clothes to work in, play in, dance in, drink in. Clothes to make music in.
Throughout their 100 year legacy, Music Makers have always been a pillar to the brand’s DNA.  In the 1970s their classic denims were worn by rock ‘n’ roll legends The Rolling Stones. This year sees emerging Brit band Coasts wearing their gear.  And now for AW14 they present their collection with a creative concept that celebrates those who make music happen.
From onstage to backstage, factory to the shop floor, from East London to the world.  This season, they celebrate Music Makers everywhere.
Shot in Lee Cooper’s home ground of East London, the AW14 campaign shows a narrative of two indie musicians setting up and performing a gig whilst showcasing fifteen key looks from this season’s collection.

Their heritage of creating clothing for Makers remains fundamental in this season’s product design. They've reflected on industrial artisans from their Eastend home ground, such as deck hands and factory workers, as inspiration for the silhouettes.  There's also nod towards their workwear legacy with a base colour of inky workforce blue, punc

For menswear they've  aimed to encapsulate an ethos of Dapper Punk. This is evident in one of the hero products, the leather biker jacket. Alternative outerwear offered this season includes a modernist parka and boxy nylon jacket.  The Dapper Punk reference is demonstrated within the womenswear range in the form of tartan and leather fabrics.

Denim is at the heart of all collections, and this seasonLee Cooper have blended workwear with modern technical influences to create the industrial artisan look. Vintage workwear repaired with stitches and patches represent their design past; crafted top stitching represents the present.  Washes and treatments enhance the muted colour casts. Overdyes and workwear stains enhance the artisan feel of the denim.
This season and beyond, they are celebrating their legendary classic denims, Harry and Pearl, two iconic styles named in tribute to their traditional British heritage.  Harry is the time honoured straight fit for men, whilst Pearl is the modern incarnation of the classic women’s skinny fit.

Harry and Pearl feature design features such as copper hardwear detail to give an antique feel, busted out seams with red overlocking, and reinforced back pockets. Both styles also feature the classic Lee Cooper arcuate on the back pocket, as used in 1908, and our iconic red tab and branded rivets, resulting in a look which is distinctly Lee Cooper.
