ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
AUTUMN/WINTER 2012 MENSWEAR
INSPIRATION
Victorian Britain and specifically the characters featured in the pages of Vanity Fair magazine: the dandy, the gamekeeper, the lord of the manor, the politician, the major general and so forth.

SILHOUETTE
A sharp-shouldered jacket is worn with plus-fours, an oversized shearling overcoat with felted wool tailoring. A new, contoured trouser shape echoes the S-bend corset line. Equestrian and military detailing features as does a raven feather print and jacquard, jet beading and brightly coloured, satin-stitch floral embroideries.

FABRICS
Exploded Prince of Wales check, pinstripe, flannel, cashmere, dégradé felted wool, silk velvet, silk moiré, silk jacquard, cotton ticking, shearling.

COLOURS
A typically Victorian colour palette dominates: black, oxblood, ivory, grey and inky blues.

SHOES
Relief brogues, Chelsea boots and hand-crafted tapestry slippers.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN AND HUNTSMAN
A single-breasted dinner jacket, a black and white Prince of Wales check double-breasted trouser suit and a black cashmere double-breasted overcoat included in the collection sees the launch of a bespoke “Huntsman for Alexander McQueen Savile Row” service that will be offered at the Alexander McQueen Bond Street store.
