Well here we go a day in the life of the Clotheshorse

Well I wake up in the morning answer my emails answer emails to PR that that are always reaching out to me to be featured on the diary of the clotheshorse which it's over 1 million views a month but they don't want to pay.  So after I make my way through all the shitI then go on to social media and answer message from fans and followers.  Now what you see below is an example of some of the things I get daily and have to deal with it's just another way of trying to put black people down I take in my stride now because what else can I do some people just don't like to see black people advancing that's their issue not mine why is you are having a problem with me my problem?

BACKGROUND

Bad, ugly, dirty, hard, unethical, heavy ... these are things that come in mind when we think about Eastern Europe & prisons. But does it have to be? Can something good and ethical come out of an Eastern European jail? We believe so. We take trash, that nobody wants & mix it up with wicked minds of Eastern European cons to create heavy eco fashion.




There is something symbolic in taking used advertising billboards, that show us the good life & our dreams & giving these to jailbirds who are on the other end of lifes spectrum. These jailbirds are applying their harsh reality and dark minds to create innovative eco fashion. They make durable, hard wearing bags from dead advertising billboards. These billboards are huge, meaning there are endless ways to cut one. Convicts have freedom to choose patterns they like, so the result is that every bag is different, unique work of prison art.


Durabilty and practicality of our bags is most important to us. As a basic bag material we use dead, discarded billboards, made from PVC, that are designed to stand up for any weather conditions, be it heavy rain, snow or wind. That makes our bags almost as tough & hard as people who make them. So all bags come with a lifetime warranty.




Inmates also produce T-shirts and men’s boxers made of 100% organic cotton (GOTS certified). Out cotton is sourced from India with respect to human rights and good working conditions. We believe that organic cotton is a way forward as it is much better for environment & healthier for your body. You can read more about organic cotton from here. T-shirts are printed with water based colors using silkscreen method.



Our aim is to show that just because something or someone seems to be lost or useless doesn’t mean that they don’t have a future. We believe that roots to jail lies in childhood, so we try to help young homeless & orphanage children who don’t have parents’ support & guidance. We can’t guarantee them a happy life, but we can give them a better chance. That’s why 50% of profits are donated to help homeless & orphanage children.

All artesians involved (including convicts) get paid for their work.





Some Russian prison jargon



Prison jargon is largely based on russian language, dating back to times of Dostojevski who through his work made it more known to public. Russian prison language and tattoos are highly developed in the underworld. Dictionaries on the web often contain old jargon, that convicts don’t actually use anymore, it’s like classic British English. Here are some words that Eastern European criminals actually use:

baklany - punks
brat na pont - to bluff
bratski krug - circle of brother
chainik - prison bully
karmoška - grille in door for giving food to convicts
ment - cop
musora - cop, prison guard
pakhan - chief of band
snõr - sock washer, low-class convict
zona - prison
blatnoi - experienced criminal
