ALICE by Temperley, Talent has launched

Fashion designer Alice Temperley has just launched ALICE by Temperley, Talent, created to support and cultivate young and upcoming talent merging fashion with art. Each season, The House of Temperley will collaborate with a musician, singer, artist, illustrator, performer or actor, to represent the collection and invite them to personalise it and interpret it in their fashion. The debut talent film features unsigned singer/songwriter Isabel (pictured above), who has been likened to Florence and The Machine. The footage will be communicated virally to promote the talent and the chosen artist will be profiled on the Temperley website and supported through Facebook and Twitter. In addition to the film, an area of the London and Los Angeles Temperley boutiques will be dedicated to exhibition space for local and up-and-coming artists wishing to display their work. Anyone can submit work for consideration by emailing talent@temperleylondon.com

Alice Temperley for Twinings

Temperley and Twinings create this season’s
ultimate accessory - Limited edition scarf designed exclusively for Twinings –

Celebrated British designer and MBE honoured, Alice Temperley, and iconic British brand, Twinings have teamed up as part of a year-long collaboration and produced an exclusive print that will initially be featured on the Temperley for Twinings scarf.

This beautifully designed limited edition scarf is the first in the range of products to be made featuring the print. The must have accessory ideal for all occasions, including your Afternoon Tea moment, adds a splash of colour to any summer wardrobe.

The unique, hand illustrated design by Temperley shows the journey of the original Twinings Earl Grey blend in 1831 from its origin in China to the Twinings store in London. An intricate background depicts the key ingredient to Earl Grey - the bergamot plant and oil - which Charles Grey II believed gave this blend a special and unique taste. It also touches on elements from the sea voyage itself in the nautical compass and a wave inspired border.

As a homage to the home of Earl Grey, Temperley drew inspiration from the iconic and historic era of the Ming Dynasty, known globally for its ornate, beautifully designed blue and white porcelain and well-crafted tea caddies, which inspired the cobalt colour scheme of this luxury scarf.

Alice Temperley said of the collaboration, “I’m very excited to be working with Twinings during our 10th anniversary year. Twinings has a rich British heritage, and the story of the origins of Earl Grey tea translated beautifully into the print we created.”

Stephen Twining, Director of Corporate Relations, commented:
“The partnership between Twinings and Temperley is such a contemporary collaboration as it is a real celebration of two iconic British brands who both share the integral values of timeless elegance, exquisite craftsmanship and quintessential English heritage culminating in a beautiful luxury product.”

Twinings Earl Grey dates back to 1831 when British Prime Minister, Charles Grey, approached Twinings with this unique blend of tea presented to him by a Chinese Mandarin associated with the tea trade. Due to Twinings prestigious reputation in the tea industry, Charles Grey petitioned Richard Twining to reproduce this unique blend especially for him to enjoy as his special Afternoon tea, and was therefore known as ‘Earl Grey's’ tea.

As part of the overall 2011 campaign, Twinings is refreshing the quintessentially English tradition of Afternoon Tea with the newly released Twinings Earl Grey blend. Twinings Afternoon Tea is about taking that special time during the day, whether at work, at home or with friends and enjoying a moment of indulgence with Twinings Earl Grey.

The new Twinings for Temperley limited edition scarf will be available from 1st July and will retail at £115 through http://www.twinings.co.uk/  and http://www.temperleylondon.com/

ALICE BY TEMPERLEY S/S 11

Brit designer Alice Temperley called on larger-than-life European characters -- Queen Guinevere and Marie Antoinette -- and gave their wardrobes a modern twist.

The more worked and luxurious Temperley line featured gothic-tinged dresses and separates in tough leather, soft ruffles, and wildcat prints, all in dramatic silhouettes and paired with metal and leather harnesses. A hooded metallic dress reminiscent of chain mail took the King Arthur theme to its most literal.

Great collection!!!
