InterContinental® Hotels & Resorts unveils four eclectic and enrichingInsider Experiences

InterContinental® Hotels & Resorts has extended its portfolio of bespoke Insider Experiences with programs in the culturally diverse European destinations of Malta, Vienna, Lisbon and Moscow. 
Curated in association with iconic brands, influential experts, and artisans, the new experiences feature private after-hours tours of museums, fashion studios and artists’ archives, culinary tastings, exclusive dinners, theatrical experiences, and even unprecedented access to a pioneering space station.
The rich collection is now featured in 16 destinations across Europe; including London, Madrid and Amsterdam. The experiences are available to guests staying in InterContinental Hotels & Resorts signature suites, which boast stunning spaces overlooking the world’s most iconic locations.
This Insider Experiences by InterContinental Hotels & Resorts celebrate the essence of transformative travel, whereby exclusive access to extraordinary experiences leaves guests with lasting memories of their stay.

v  A Waltz through Vienna - InterContinental® Vienna takes guests on an exploration of the city’s musical heritage with Dr. Strauss, great-great-grandson of 18th century Viennese composer Johann Strauss I, and father of the world famous Johann Strauss Jr, also known as the Waltz King. Dr. Strauss retraces his forefather’s inspirational footsteps through the city to a musical soundtrack of Strauss compositions, which unveils the capital’s influence on his music. Guests are also treated to lunch at the glamorous and traditional Café Central; followed by a private dance lesson with Professor Schäfer-Elmayer at Elmayer Dance School and a private tour of the Palais Pallavicini, one of Vienna’s most beautiful and historically significant buildings. 

v  Modern Moscow – InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya has partnered with masterminds of modern Russian culture to create a bespoke Modern Moscow Insider Experience, unveiling the city`s experimental and truly avant-garde spirit in the realms of art, culture and technology.The experience includes a private visit to  the neighbouring rooftop home studio of contemporary artistAlexander Zhernoklyuev. Following this, guests will immerse in a Russian gastronomic experience courtesy of Executive Chef Denis Kondakov and his team at the Chekhonte Restaurant. There is also a behind-the-scenes visit atElectrotheatre Stanislavsky, a multi-functional theatre. For the curios minds, the experience is completed with an unprecedented private visit to Moscow’sSpace City, where guests witness Russia’s groundbreaking scientific research and development. 

v  Crafted with Soul – InterContinental® Lisbon has created a two-day experience that focuses on Lisbon’s musical traditions and its artisanal handcrafted specialities. Guests begin with a curated tour of Luvaria Ulisses, the oldest glove boutique in Lisbon, founded in 1925. Owner, Carlos Carvalho, delivers an engaging historical narrative of the glove craft and the workshop. Guests can also extend their tour to other local speciality boutiques to suit their tastes. Guest are then welcomed to the Museo de Fado that pays homage to the melancholic national ‘Fado’ song considered by UNESCO as an example of the “Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.” With records, recordings and even a guitar workshop on show, this is a treat for music lovers. A gourmet Portuguese dinner at the InterContinental Lisbon is followed by a romantic evening tour of the famous Houses of Fado. Here in these houses, poets, singers and musicians gather to perform to audiences in a welcoming atmosphere that captures the essence of Portuguese musical tradition. At the end of the night, guests retire overnight in an InterContinental Lisbon suite.  The second day includes a private behind-the-scenes tour of Palacio Nacional da Ajuda, the Royal Family’s permanent residence during the reign of King Luis I, where guests are privy to restricted areas of the palace and go on to explore surrounding areas of interest for a full impression of Portuguese culture.

v  Hear The Cathedral’s Voice - InterContinental® Malta has partnered withReverend Anthony Cassar, Archpriest of the Cathedral Chapter of Mdina and a leading expert on the ancient art of bell ringing, to explore the city’s little-known religious heritage. A private visit to the city’s Cathedral Museum allows guests to view priceless masterpieces up-close whilst admiring the views of Malta from the Cathedral’s cupola as the bells ring out. Guests are then welcomed to enjoy a romantic lunch on the terrace of the Palazzo de Piro, a spectacular spot to enjoy authentic Maltese cuisine prepared by a team of world-class Chefs. The day draws to a close with an overnight stay in one of InterContinental Malta’s newly unveiled suites.
