Martina Vitali is the inspirational face behind the new concept food and fashion within a pop-up shop, situated in the heart of Shoreditch. It boasts a unique collection of brands across men’s and women’s wear combined with the quirky addition of homemade Italian pizza.
For Martina, who has a lifelong love of fashion, admits it began at a very early age, and that in turn has led to her first entrepreneurial venture alongside boyfriend Andrea, who shares a similar passion for food.
1.N.1 (one and one) pop-up boutique opened its doors to the public on Monday 8th June, located on the stylish Paul Street inShoreditch. It offers a fresh, modern and relaxed space to enjoy a collection of fashion labels with the added benefit of tasting genuine Italian cuisine.
“The aim is to promote the 1.N.1 project as a new ‘designer community.’ We offer a real platform where the customer can touch and feel products and I think it’s a great opportunity for up-and-coming designers to test their products before going on to bigger retailers,” says Martina.
Martina wanted to make customers feel at home and this idea was born organically from watching her parents ‘share their lives’ together; something she heavily believes in. With the addition of food in the pop up shop, Martina has achieved a homely environment for all her visitors.
“I was 18 years old when I met my boyfriend Andrea, and from the beginning we always talked about how we could do business together and I’ve always been inspired by how my parents have shared their lives and work together,” Martina said.
Forever a dreamer, full of new and exciting ideas, Martina planned to travel the world as much as she could with Andrea to gain important life experiences; but it was on UK soil where the true inspiration came from. “One day walking around London, I discovered a really nice shop in South Kensington. There were a lot of people inside, different brands and I was in love with it,” Martina added.
From there the initial idea for 1.N.1 - representing Martina and Andrea – developed, marrying Martina’s love of fashion with Andrea’s love of food. “The pizzetta (small pizza) adds to the aesthetic of creating a home within the shop, we want people to come in and feel like they are visiting their best friend, try on clothes and have some lovely, homely food. The location for me is the key. When you think new designers or new experiments, you think Shoreditch” Martina explains.
It is clear Martina is determined to make a success of 1.N.1 demonstrated by her new, exciting and original idea with the aim of taking the project to other global territories!
The fashion brands available at 1.N.1 pop-up are: Modern Vintage (sunglasses), 1p87 Chic Handcrafts, Thanh Cong Vu (womenswear), Adios Bonita (lingerie and swimwear), Jewellery by Maya (jewellery), Joanne Stoker (shoes), Korn(jewellery) and The Clothing Lounge for Dream Nation and Zxe Zxe, Wild and Wishful, ASC, Govan.
