Leading fashion charity TRAID is opening in Berwick Street, Soho to launch Traidremade’s new summer collection with iconic British designer Alex Noble. The collection will be exclusively available at the Traidremade pop-up store at 2 Berwick Street.
Joining a thriving mix of bespoke tailors, textile merchants and fashion boutiques from Friday 22nd May to 13th June Traidremade will add to the unique independent and established brands.
Traidremade creates sustainable clothes using up-cycling and customisation techniques using pre and post-consumer textile waste and surplus, from luxury brands, and collaborates with designers to create sustainable clothes in the UK.
The limited edition collection by Alex Noble titled ‘Rights Of Massive’, consists of a fourteen piece unisex capsule collection. Heavily influenced by 1980’s streetwear the designs have taken shape inspired by muses Sade, Neneh Cherry and Willy Cartier. Pieces include bleached corduroy bomber jackets, paneled dungarees, boy-shorts, tartan trench suits, oversized shirts, box tees and hats. In addition, a bespoke treated denim collection and one off patched and painted sports jumpers will be available. Prices start from £65.
All profits from the Rights of Massive collection is going to the TRAID funded project in Bangladesh, providing day care, nutritious food and education for 140 children of garment workers.
In addition the store will be hosting a program of events in the space with practical workshops in repairing denim, darning and exclusive film screening. Visit www.berwickstlondon.com for live updates and further information.
