UK’S ‘TINY CHANCER’ TALLIA STORM TO HOST TEDxTeen 2014 LONDON
Tallia Storm will host the TEDxTeen 2014 London on 11th October, it was announced by organisers.
The teenage singer/songwriter and former TEDxTeen speaker will host the ‘Remarkable Disruptors’ themed event, which is being held at The indigo02 at the O2. This is the inaugural British TEDxTeen event, which is organised by the We Are Family Foundation, a non-for-profit organisation, founded by Nile Rodgers in 2002.
The event will welcome a host of inspirational speakers who are driving change, proving that if you are good enough you’re old enough.
“I was invited as a speaker to the New York TEDxTeen event in 2013 by Nile Rodgers and I can honestly say it was one of the most inspirational experiences of my life. To be in the company and indeed to listen to these remarkable and extraordinary stories from teenagers, who are literally shaping the world with their fearless ideas, is incredible. London will be a great showcase to highlight the strengths and empowerment that teenagers have and the impact they are already making around the world with not just impressive ideas but actions – that’s what counts,” said Tallia Storm.
‘One of my favourite new artists in the world,’ tweeted Nile Rodgers just last week after catching up with the 15 years old Glaswegian Tallia Storm at the Ryder Cup Gala concert in Glasgow.
Sir Elton John discovered her soulful signature, at just 13 years of age after Tallia handed her demo CD to his partner David Furnish on holiday. Sir Elton called her and invited her to open his sell out concert in Scotland. Dubbed ‘Tiny Chancer’ by media, she has since performed around the world and has just signed a global record deal with Virgin Records at the iconic Capitol Tower in Hollywood, California.
