On September 21st, during Milano Fashion Week, Marni will start the celebrations of its twentieth anniversary with the opening of the Marni Flower Market in the Rotonda della Besana.
Marni Flower Market will be held in Milan to highlight the deep Italian roots of Marni. The non-celebratory event is thought of as fluid and will be open to the public on the afternoon from 3pm-8pm of Sunday 21st.
During the Marni Flower Market, the public will be able to shop, bringing home a unique and useful souvenir from the one-off event. There will be many items for sale: vase holders in different sizes decorated with Marni archive prints; Marni Flower Market shopping bags; printed ceramic pots containing seeds of a flower and canvas aprons decorated with archive prints. The dialogue between the Marni prints and the flowers will be a constant link. Also on sale are new editions of the animal-sculptures in metal and PVC handcrafted by a group of Colombian women.
The project reaffirms Marni’s commitment to charity initiatives: a part of the proceeds from the sale of limited edition products will be donated to The Vimala Association (www.ass-vimala.org). This initiative will guarantee seriously disabled Tibetan children, living in India, medical care and physiotherapy, as well as allow the restoration and maintenance of their school-house.
MARNI FLOWER MARKET has been appointed by the Comune di Milano.
