Tim Coppens Fall/Winter 2014 Collection

Inspired by the world of mountaineering, winter isolation and modern exploration; the Tim Coppens Fall-Winter 2014 Collection tells the story of a solitary modern voyage through both nature and civilization.

Luxurious fabrics steeped with tradition are combined with technical fabrics and developments, uniting history and tradition with modern interpretation through both fabrics and design. The Tim Coppens explorer stands alone, present and perfectly in tune with their environment.

An expedition color palette of navy, khaki, plaid (in blues and greens), black and silver aluminum highlights runs through the collection.  The materials are technical, but this is not performance wear.

Aluminum fabric accents highlight tri-paneled pants with nylon inserts, making the garment both light to wear and visually unique.

Austrian Loden Wool, a light and water resistant cloth, is used throughout the collection, shown in Blue/Green Plaids and simple greys, constructed into coats and shirts. The cloth is used in it’s pure form with jackets and shirts finished unlined, allowing easy layering whilst also paying tribute to the purity of the cloth.

Wool plaids echo the memory of the mountains and luxurious leathers and exposed zippers bring expedition utility into the contemporary landscape. Quilted coats and bomber jackets fit the body perfectly, stitch detailing reappears as a Tim Coppens signature and a concealed hood and exposed zipper detailing create a 3D effect in shape and form.

A Kimono in Loden Wool continues the juxtaposition of tradition and modernity, with lengthened coat pockets adding strong visual definition as well as practical comfort. Print is used selectively, shown in a contemporary polka dot, samurai print and collection signature basecamp print.

The Fall-Winter 2014 Collection launches Tim Coppens by Linda Farrow Gallery. Drawing on the mountain inspiration, the one definitive style comes in the form of an oversized goggle shape, featuring a chrome statement t-bar and graphic cutout side detailing. Materials include stainless steel frames in silver, white and black, combined with rubberized acetate and nylon coated lenses.

Tim Coppens continues his partnership with both Masterpiece for backpacks and Common Projects for footwear. The backpacks reflect the collection; like a hikers companion, striking in design and functional in form. Luxurious leathers are mixed with technical zippers, concealed drawstrings and aluminum accents.

The Common Projects footwear collaboration expands to include a refreshed view on a men’s and now women’s hightops. The expedition color palette running through the designs in black, khaki, navy and white.
