EMPORIO ARMANI AW 14 #MILAN

EMPORIO ARMANI WOMENSWEAR Autumn / Winter 2014-2015 collection

                                               Al momento

A story about fashion, where masculine and feminine elements come together, and active, dynamic appeal blends with a taste for couture, and eccentric accessories and perfect lines. The DNA of Emporio Armani style is given a contemporary look and redefined in daywear; there are contrasting looks for the day and evening, unusual combinations of fabrics, and shades of irony.

The theme of black and white, and variations of luminous grey. The colour turquoise, as cold as glass enamel. The first outfit on the catwalk is an oversized trouser suit, in true mannish style. The last to appear are black velvet evening dresses revealing arms and legs, with white details and trims, stripes, and traces of pearls and black crystals. Trousers with pearls that look like pinstripes, jackets and T-shirts with a cut-off waistcoat effect. There are also spectacular trousers that are close-fitting at the back, with contrasting soft pleats at the front. They are either ankle-length, or knee-length like Bermuda shorts – a redefinition of shape. The volumes of the jacket are re-imagined with new dimensions and shoulder pads similar to those of a man’s jacket. The close-fitting body jacket offers unexpected appeal with its blend of masculine and feminine details. Long coats with raw-cut edges and wool long hair furs.

Surprising accessories offer a touch of contrasting contemporary style. These include an oversized black or grey felt hat, or a hat entirely covered in crystals for the evening. Macro pearls light up shoe laces, collars, fasteners and trims of dresses. A black vinyl tie fastened at the side highlights a cheeky boy look, as does the clutch bag that peeps out from the pocket. Black and white shoes, boots with buckles, and faux socks in neoprene complement the long evening dress. Lace-ups and loafers with pearl details emphasise the fun appeal of these accessories, which through their combinations of materials suggest a new, modern, balanced aesthetic.
