Jessie J dress creates a storm

has been a busy weekend for emerging young designer Veronica Basharatyan as press, buyers and fans clamber to find out more about the brand after Jessie J wore her nude, ribbon knit dress on The Voice on Saturday night. Jessie looked stunning in the pale mini dress and the ‘girly’ change from her usual fierce look was a huge hit with her fans and the press.

Basharatyan V is a relatively unknown label that is starting to have a huge impact globally – with her designs being featured in Italian Vogue, Russian Grazia, UK Elle and Harpers Bazaar. Veronica Basharatyan, the young designer behind the label, was born in Moscow and after studying Economics there moved to London to follow her dreams of being a designer. Taking courses at Central St Martin’s and London College of Fashion, on graduating she set up her own label and has presented three ready to wear collections in London, Moscow and Milan.

The dress Jessie J wore on Saturday night was a limited edition piece from the SS13 Siberia collection, the range included tops and dresses, beautifully cut trousers and city shorts, all produced in the best silks, chiffons, silk jerseys, linen and metallic organza in a colour palette of cream, pearl, nude, blue metallic and navy. The ribbon knit technique used in the dress is a signature of the brand and is a distinctive feature that appears in all the collections.

Whilst the dress that Jessie J wore is a limited edition, customers can request further information from sales@basharatyanV.com and some select pieces from the SS13 collection are also still available from Rous Iland in Dover Street, London.
