TOMS opens first UK pop up store

TOMS LAUNCHES FIRST UK POP UP SHOP IN SEVEN DIALS

On 3rd May 2012, TOMS (http://www.toms.co.uk/ ) will launch its first ever UK stand-alone retail space, with the opening of its new pop up store in Seven Dials, Covent Garden. Open for two months, the new concept store will showcase the iconic TOMS One for One™ footwear and eyewear collections, as well as being home to a regular calendar of creative community events.

Located at 69 Neal Street, the TOMS pop up shop will span two floors, with the street level floor dedicated to the footwear and eyewear ranges. Customers will be able to shop the spring/summer shoe collection – where for every pair sold a new pair of shoes is given to a child in need – alongside the newly-launched TOMS Eyewear range, which offers six classic styles of TOMS sunglasses and in true TOMS fashion, for every pair purchased, TOMS will help give sight to a person in need, One for One™. Visitors to the store will also be able to check out the new motivational book by TOMS founder and Chief Shoe Giver, Blake Mycoskie - ‘Start Something That Matters’.

The basement level of the TOMS pop up store will act as a creative hub for TOMS fans both new and old, and will play host to a series of events throughout spring - celebrating the TOMS community and encouraging visitors to get involved in creative sessions. Dates in the calendar will be announced through TOMS and Seven Dials, but will include:

Thursday 3rd May – Debut Contemporary Exhibition, a partnership between Debut Contemporary and TOMS that will see artists exhibiting seven one-of-a-kind TOMS eyewear art frames, before launching a public vote to find the creative talent of tomorrow

Saturday 5th May – TOMS Community Fair, a day of live music, food and drink to celebrate the arrival of TOMS to the area, as well as TOMS’ 6th birthday. Running from 11am – 7pm, candy floss and hot dogs will be served all day, with children’s entertainment and face painting taking place between 12 noon – 5pm. Fair-goers will also get the chance to be creative and customise their TOMS in store

Monday 28th May – Designer Limited Editions, an exhibition of five TOMS Shoes created by leading UK fashion designers to be available to buy at silent auction

Thursday 31st May – London College of Fashion Window Takeover, an installation of store windows designed by LCF students
