Shiseido Beauty Report: Jacquemus SS17

Simon Porte Jacquemus never fails to astound his audience with his extraordinary, avant garde show concepts and design, and Paris SS17 was no different.

Jacquemus was unmistakably inspired his Provençal roots, with a nod to “Les Santon”, the tiny terracotta nativity scene figurines produced in the afore-mentioned region of southeastern France, of which he used as a main reference for the clothing & textures.

All at once, gentle, romantic and powerful, the collection showed womanly shapes with the signature Jacquemus twist.

To complement the show garments and aesthetic, Shiseido’s artistic director, Dick Page crafted a beautifully simple but captivating makeup concept.

The first thing you saw was perfect skin - clean, hydrated and fresh… and sun-kissed.

Sable was used on the eyebrows and they were brushed up but mostly kept natural.

Extra light from a mix of Kitsune & Garnet was added around the eyes using a soft fluffy brush, to brighten them up under the shadow of the beautiful hats used the collection.

A smudge of Benefiance Full Correction Lip treatment was added to the eyelids for moisture.

The lips were reddened using a mixture of the Rouge Rouge colors, applied with the soft brush for a faint soft red.

A small dab of red was added to brighten up just the middle of the lip, to imitate that of a small child.

Overall, the models appeared drenched in the southern French sun.

Dick Page used the following products:

Shiseido Eye Color in Sable, £21.50
