The collection Marni Capsule Spring 2016 is a moodboard that expresses the experimental eclecticism of the Marni world.
Mix and mash draw a picture of sophisticated individualism. Night and day, delicate and pragmatic, bourgeois and offbeat mingle into a quixotic balance. The silhouette is fluid, with softly broad shoulders and lengths that come together jaggedly. Rules are broken, constantly: flower embroideries swarm on the sporty blouson, while crystal or boule buttons close severe calf-length skirts. Proportions are experimental: boxy jackets, multi-layer skirts, fluid pantsuits. Gauzy surfaces, python leather, glittery tops are juxtaposed in eclectic combinations. Exuberant and lively, prints run on short shifts, long dresses and fluid leisure suits with the ease of a pajama. Skirts have pragmatic, outsized pockets in dense sequin embroideries, while fur recurs as an odd touch: a stole, a collar in flower intarsia to top a clash of patterns and styles. Rhythmic geometries and decadent textures create tactile modulations, while graphic belts add another layer of visual stimulation. The look is bold, individual and idiosyncratic.
The palette is pictorial and unpredictable: severe tones of black, blue, burgundy, grey contrast and mingle with notes of yellow, dusty pink, red. Fabrics are fluid yet compact: double georgette, double cotton silk, double angora cashmere.
Accessories play with materials and textures, mixing precise design with a taste for the offbeat: intarsia boots with chunky wooden soles, robust pumps with pragmatic straps and intarsia shoppers. Bijoux are crystal earrings and brooches unexpectedly dipped in paint.
The delivery of the pre-order is expected by end of November 2015 and includes all the markets where Marni.com is distributed, while the collection will be sold at Marni boutiques starting from November 12th.
