Opening Ceremony the American pioneers of fashion and creativity and Armor Lux, French brand at the forefront of maritime fashion since 1938 have teamed up for a very special Holiday slipper.
The base is a traditional “Charantaise”, unchanged in form and handcrafted in the same way for over 300 years this slipper served as soft inner shoe to the wooden shoes worn by Fishermen and Farmers in the North and West of France until the beginning of the 20thCentury.
Normally made up with a felted upper layer Opening Ceremony has twisted this traditional product with a Leopard printed false fur matching its Holiday animal print theme.

For ALYX’s dual Spring collections "New Happiness" and "Love Chaos," SSENSE commissioned a video collaboration with photographer Nick Knight and creative director Matthew Williams entitled,“I Am Velocity”:
Illuminated by the headlights of passersby, a woman rides on a motorcycle through the streets of London in the dead of night wearing riding gear completely wrapped in reflective material. Conceived even before the clothes were designed, this video melds the kinetic force between fashion and technology.
Collaboration is an essential part of the ALYX machine. Beyond his longstanding partnership with Nick Knight, the label’s designer Matthew Williams has also served as Art Director for Kanye West and Lady Gaga. While his designs have been described as “luxury streetwear,” Williams’ interpretation of luxury is grounded in engineering and endurance. He has temporarily relocated his offices from New York to Ferrara, Italy to tap into the region’s rich tradition of manufacturing.
