Fortie Label - Fashion Scout Merit Award Winner
For the AW18 season, urban-luxe brand, Fortie Label, draws inspiration from 'Forty Thieves', an all-female London crime syndicate who were infamously known for their antics from 19th to mid 20th century. Combining this inspiration with elements of 90's R&B female Hip-Hop 'Video Vixen' stars, the collection plays on sexuality and female empowerment.
The brands fierce girl gang aesthetic, evokes an audacious perspective on fashion, creating an effortlessly cool yet equally extraordinary look. This paired with a sophisticated approach to niche themes within black culture, the noughties and iconic women in history feed into each collection.
Oversized boiler-suit silhouettes are paired with elements of sportsluxe, feminine glamour and hints of beachwear. This season also sees the return of the brands signature Triple Hooded Jacket, reinvented in an array of fabrics and lengths, alongside a revamped corset in Denim, influenced by bullet proof vests. Cropped hoodies are teamed with high waisted PVC shorts, whilst sheer fabric tracksuits, overlay bikinis with bamboo detailing, created through a collaboration with swimwear designer Louisa Ballou.

LFW - Amy Thomson Presentation AW 18 #FASHIONSCOUT
Amy Thomson presented her AW18 collection to crowds during LFW at Fashion Scout, within the presentation studio.
Eponymous label Amy Thomson launched her playful AW18 collection 'Chasin' Dreams', inspired by youthful aspirations. Each look in the collection presents a character based on a profession seen from a child's perspective. Thomson poses the question - what does a Princess, Baker and Hairdresser look like through a child's unaffected eyes? How are these career paths defined in the mind of a child without any preconceptions?
From this conceptual beginning, Amy has created eight complete looks that embody a magical aesthetic, bringing to life the idea of focusing on your dreams. Thomson creates this magical feel with her larger-than-life hand rendered drawings that hold a distinctive and charming naivety, ensuring no two garments are the same. With dreamlike prints, motifs and illustrations referencing each character appear throughout the narrative of the collection.
