Emilio Cavallini 'Risqué Business' launch party

Last night I was invited along to Sketch London in the newly refurbished Martin Creed Gallery for Emilio Cavallini's Risqué Business launch party - and what a party it was guests were treated with Perrier Jouet Chamapagne a host of cocktails and snacks such as mini burgers, salmon dishes and an amazing Risotto.,..

Guests in attendance on the night included - Eliza Doolittle who DJ'ed, Jameela Jamil who also hit the decks, Jade Parfitt, Leah Weller, Male supermodel Tyson Beckford who was just amazing handsome, Dudley O' Shaughnessy (that's right Rihanna's boy toy from the we found a love video), Diana Vickers and Zara Martin among Others.

The hot topic of conversation was Emilio's cult 'mantyhose' for men - not only were some female guests wearing Emilio's hosiery but a number of male guests were wearing the cult item including Tydon Beckford and I must say when you hear the word mantyhose you think mmmmm.... Not sure but when you see them on they are really a hot item. (I want a pair)

All in all it was a great night, great product and I love the little snippet fashion shows that happened through the night and it certainly was Risque Business......

EMILIO CAVALLINI CREATES TIGHTS...FOR MEN

EMILIO CAVALLINI CREATES TIGHTS…FOR MEN

Women’s Hosiery Legend Offers Legwear for Modern, Confident Guys

Today they call them “mantyhose,” brosiery,” or “guylons,” and the buzz has reached global proportions, thanks to a February 2011 story in Women’s Wear Daily. But Italian designer Emilio Cavallini, a leader in women’s legwear and bodywear for more than 40 years, simply calls them “unisex tights.”

“Men’s tights, or ‘unisex’ tights, have become an important niche business for us since we started our online shop in June 2009,” reports Francesco Cavallini, vice president of Florence-based Stilnovo S.p.A., the family-owned company that produces the Emilio Cavallini brand.

“The category really grew organically,” says Francesco. “When we launched our e-commerce site, we began to notice that tights in size Medium-Large were quite often being purchased by men.”

According to the executive, this sparked a new round of research and development into the area of men’s tights. Male employees at the company wear-tested a range of tights to rate the comfort level and end uses, and the company created a new line of unisex tights that both men and women could wear.

“The right fabrication was essential,” says Francesco, “since men perspire more than women do and because of the obvious ‘anatomical differences’ between the two genders!” The executive reports that Cavallini’s unisex tights are a combination of cotton and nylon, which has greater elasticity and stretch as well as a high degree of breathability. “Men’s tights are great for lounging around after work or on the weekends…instead of sweatpants,” explains Francesco.”

Lisa Cavallini, president of Mostlytights LLC, the distributor for Cavallini legwear in North America, reports that fashion and practicality are equal factors in the sale of men’s tights.

“Our biggest sellers are solid black and solid white,” says Lisa. “Men wear them with shorter pants and shorts or with worn-out jeans with holes in them. Wearing them makes a man feel young, fashionable, and hip. On the practical side, they add a layer of comfort and warmth, especially in the winter.”

In addition to solid black and white, the unisex collection is available in a black/white skull pattern as well as in black/white graphic prints.
