Valentino SS16 Pop Ups at Harrods





British luxury department store Harrods is delighted to announce the launch of Valentino’s Spring/Summer 16 collection with a series of pop-ups across RTW, accessories and shoes. Opening in-store tomorrow (1st March 2016), the collection is a celebration of Africa’s cultural diversity and features traditional beaded ornamentation, woven textures, feathered necklines and cuffs, as well as artisanal pieces. 

 

For Accessories, customers are invited to visit the pop-up on Ground Floor where they will find Valentino’s iconic bags - Rockstud Lock BagRockstud Shopper and My Rockstud Tote, all made with supple leather and embellished with intricate beading and tribal panels. 

 

For those wishing to see the workmanship that goes into bringing some the collection’s pieces to life, an Artisan will be in the Ground Floor pop-up space demonstrating the hand painting techniques prominent in the collection.  Demonstrations will take place on Saturday 5th & Sunday 6thSaturday 12th & Sunday 13thSaturday 19thSunday 20th March

 

As they make their way through the Knightsbridge department store and up Harrods’ iconic Egyptian Escalators, customers can enjoy a runway view of Valentino’s RTW collection, displayed on the side balconies. Upon reaching the First Floor, the Valentino boutique within Superbrands has been transformed into a pop-up art gallery style space, showcasing key SS16 styles from Valentino, alongside showpiece ornaments, which inspired the collection, from private collector Carmen Moreno.  These ornaments are also feature in the exhibition windows along Superbrands’ marble corridors entitled ‘Connecting Cultures: Windows on the World’ - a collaboration with Gallerist Carmen Moreno and Artist Serge Uberti.

 

Making their way up to Shoe Heaven on the Fifth Floor, in addition to the existing Valentino boutique, customers can also find a specially edited selection of shoes and bags from the Spring/Summer 16 collection showcased in the Rotunda along one of the floor’s main thoroughfares.
