Oliver Spencer Launches Women’s Capsule Collection – Autumn/ Winter 2013
Oliver Spencer launches his capsule womenswear collection for Autumn/Winter 2013; designed to compliment and enhance the men’s offer but with a distinct personality of it’s own.
Inspired by the influential 20th century German artist, Joseph Beuys, Spencer was motivated by his association with the 1960’s Fluxus movement.
With his distinct design aesthetic coming through in the collection, Oliver’s craftsmanship and detailing is evident in the outwear offering., the “Willow” shirt-dress has been given an Eton collar and pocketing on the breast. Available in the “Birkhouse” fabric, the shirt dress is indigo dyed to portray a denim-esque feel. Reminiscent of a Japanese kimono design, the diamond shaped patterning combined with the subtle detailing creates a statement Autumn / Winter item.
For a more classic look details such as rounded feminine collars and black trimmings compliment oversized buttons for a bolder statement.
Trousers are narrow with an androgynous silhouette and fitted close to the body; perfect for complimenting with loose tops to create a clean and tailored silhouette.
Much of the collection is made in the UK, many garments in London.
