The Dolce&Gabbana Animalier Bike is for ladies only and was born of Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana’s passion for the athletic and healthy lifestyle. Applying their magic touch this time to a bicycle, Dolce&Gabbana swathes the frame in leopard print, the emblem of their style. The Animalier bicycle aims to impress with fine detailing, and a vintage feel.
The mechanics of the bike, as well as the style, are taken from the traditional artisan process: there are no gears, the wheel has 18 radii and the rear and head lights are pedal activated.
The handlebars are in a classic shape with the break mechanics hidden inside the body of the bike for a clean aesthetic. The bike is highly finished, with 24k gold gilding, protected by a all weather varnish, leather seat and black bell with Dolce&Gabbana logo plaque and a handy plastic coated aluminium basket on the front.
The actually bike is made of steel and is varnished using a particular technique called sublimation, which requires each piece to be hand finished.
The limited edition bicycles will be available at select Dolce&Gabbana boutiques worldwide: Milan, Florence, Rome, London, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Munich, Berlin, Tokyo, Osaka, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai.
