PretaPortobello supports Mary Portas's big push for British markets

After the saturating coverage in the last 24 hours of Mary Portas's plan to save the British high street,
PretaPortobello are thrilled about her specific support of local market places. Yesterday she called for "a
national market day" which will give budding entrepreneurs the opportunity to operate stalls in markets
nationwide to test their wares on the community.

PretaPortobello have established themselves as a platform for independent designers and stall holders from a variety of London markets. Their ethos is to champion new, young brands by providing them with a flexible and un- daunting way to sell their creations and an additional source of revenue, whilst giving them much needed promotion and exposure in the fiercely competitive world of fashion.
Over the last 4 years Pretaportobello's dedication to the market places of London has led to several designers flourishing, becoming household names that are stocked in stores around the country.

Victoria Cooper, a founder of Pretaportobello, says: We are huge supporters of street markets and believe they are an integral part of communities, adding vitality and vibrancy to the local area. Moreover, the famous markets such as Portobello, Camden and Spitalfields, can attract a wealth of national andinternational visitors which is a great boost to the local economy. Many of our designers use the markets to trial new designs, or to earn quick money which they can put back into their businesses.
