With the first collection due to launch in stores in August, the much anticipated second instalment of the Lyle & Scott and Universal Works collaboration launched at SS15 London Collections: Men.
This season the collection was inspired by a Lyle & Scott argyle intarsia that David Keyte wore in his youth.
This vivid memory instigated an array of dissected argyle designs, which applied to a variety of apparel in print and woven techniques, produced an all-over graphic collection.
The twenty piece collection consisted of mixed gauge aesthetic knitwear, jumpers featuring unique integrated elbow pads, relaxed work-wear style trousers and considered t-shirts with detailed knitted trims.
The hero piece of the collection was an all-over jacquard, double-bed, knitted bomber immersed in a pixilated argyle pattern and hosted the padded texture of a sweatshirt.
The primary colour palette partnered with the evolved argyle pattern turned a classic piece of knitwear into a contemporary collection suitable for Spring Summer ‘15.
There is a clear sharing of ethos between the Lyle & Scott and Universal Works. Both transcend fashion and aim to develop products that are resolutely none trend driven.
