Boxpark hosts Dougie Wallace’s 'Shoreditch Wildlife' Exhibition
On April 2 critically acclaimed photographer Dougie Wallace’s feral take on Shoreditch comes to Boxpark as part East London’s monthly First Thursday free gallery events.
Shoreditch Wildlife is Wallace’s photographic series taken over 15 years, depicting the distinctive heart of Shoreditch and its sometimes-absurd nature. Dougie Wallace has been described as the most exiting street photographer working today. He takes a photograph, which is technically faultless whilst striking the perfect balance of humour, pathos and bathos; his innate talent for consuming all this information into a beautiful image makes him unique in his field.
To accompany the exhibition Dougie Wallace will be have a pop-up shop running from 30th to 6th April at the Boxpark. The shop will be an opportunity to purchase Dougie Wallace’s books and see more of his work including his Road Wallah, Omnibus and Stags, Hens and Bunnies series. The shop will host 2 special events. There will be an opportunity to meet the artist on the 1st April and a street photography master-class conducted by Wallace Sunday 5th April around Brick Lane market.
Acts on the night of 2nd April include DJ sets from Jodie Harsh and Alice Temple on and a live set from electronic music Duo Thief.
20% from all sales will go to The Hepatitis C Trust. In addition to this Dougie Wallace will produce limited edition print especially for the charity, which will be available exclusively from Printspace.

MUSIC PRODUCER & DJ DIPLO JOINS K-SWISS AS VOICE OF NEW CAMPAIGN
‘The Board’ Program Application Is Now Open
Heritage American tennis brand K•Swiss is partnering with renowned DJ, producer and entrepreneur Diplo to launch ‘The Board’, a game changing campaign built to inspire, and to be led by, the next generation of young entrepreneurs. Appointing Diplo is a nod to the brand’s founders, two entrepreneurs who moved to California in 1966 and built the global brand from a revolutionary tennis shoe, the K•Swiss Classic. Diplo will serve as the Director of a 100-person board comprised of creative and connected individuals who will work on real tasks to bring the K•Swiss brand back to prominence. The application site opened on March 18th with submissions valid through April 30, 2015 at www.kswiss.com/theboard.
“We believe that consumer aspirations have shifted. The goal has evolved beyond being the fastest runner or being a celebrity. Young people want their own brands, their own voice and their own businesses. K•Swiss is committed to outfitting and inspiring this generation of entrepreneurs,” said Barney Waters, chief marketing officer of K•Swiss Global Brands. “We have created a program with substance, where our customers get involved in the process of rebuilding K•Swiss and make real contributions. As a respected entrepreneur and global music talent, Diplo is the perfect leader for ‘The Board’.”
Led by Diplo, successful applicants to ‘The Board’ will be invited to the program’s members-only website with a six-course curriculum connecting the group with industry insiders. Each insider will lead a discussion session specific to their expertise, and then assign a task to the board that relates to K•Swiss’ business. Members of ‘The Board’ will make real decisions on real projects that K•Swiss will follow. The program will highlight important topics, including: brand positioning, sneaker design, social media promotion and drafting a business plan.
