POLICE CELEBRATE THEIR 30TH ANNIVERSARY AND LAUNCH THE LOOK BEYOND PROJECT

This year iconic eyewear brand Police celebrates their 30th anniversary. To mark the occasion Police are launching an exclusive special edition eyewear range and commemorative book, called Look Beyond, which features a collection of artistic photographs that looks back over the past 30 years of the brand.

The celebratory Special Edition sunglasses use a signature Police Aviator style model with unique and sophisticated details. The classic pilot shape, which marked the iconic 1980s lifestyle, is given an exclusive touch with a special gold plated frame, leather detailing and the iconic winged Police logo. A classic and timeless collection the sunglasses will available in both silver and gold at Harvey Nichols for £240 from April 2013.

The book, Look Beyond, is based on an idea by Michele Pecchioli and is the work of one of the great names of Italian photography, Giovanni Gastel. Through a collection of portraits of personalities from the worlds of show business, music, sports and art including Luke Evans, Stefano Accorsi, Luisa Ranieri, Saturnino, Carlo Cracco, Flavia Pennetta, Francesco Scianna and many more – the photographer depicts what it means to look beyond, to overcome those boundaries and filters that often prevent us from truly understanding our surroundings and our inner selves.

The ‘Look Beyond’ concept is the ability to comprehend these two dimensions, to look with new eyes and to feel part of something bigger. The portraits are accompanied by remarks by the protagonists on the concept of looking beyond.

As well as celebrating 30 years of style, the project has also been created in support of Doctors Without Boarders. Part of the proceeds from sale of the book and sunglasses will be donated to the charity to provide a complete cycle of treatment based on ready to use therapeutic foods for at least 600 malnourished children.
