NEW YORK, NY, NOVEMBER 18, 2011 – The ck Calvin Klein, Calvin Klein Jeans, and Calvin Klein Underwear stores today globally announced a specially commissioned sound installation by experimental performance artist Lizzi Bougatsos of Gang Gang Dance, in collaboration with Art Production Fund, as the focus of each of the brands’ annual holiday window displays. The original song also features Gang Gang Dance’s guitarist, Josh Diamond.

The unique sound installation – “Holiday (DOPE XXXmas)” – presents seasonal lyrics and rhythmic beats inspired by the “Holiday Party” theme seen across all three brands’ store windows worldwide. Spanning over 660 retail locations from North America to Europe, Asia, and Australia, the ultra-modern song can be heard from speakers within the windows or from sleek headphone stations.

In addition, key Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein Underwear store locations in the U.S., U.K., Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Russia, and Hong Kong also have interactive displays for customers to use Shazam, the world’s leading mobile discovery application, with the featured song. People using their smartphones to tag the track in the installation will receive a customized tag result, ranging from an in-store promotion to a complimentary download of the song or exclusive Calvin Klein holiday wallpaper for those select mobile devices. This is a unique execution for Shazam, as the partnership marks the first in-store only program utilizing the service. The free track is also available for download at calvinkleininc.com/holidayparty.

Ms. Bougatsos is a New York based visual and performance artist of the experimental, interdisciplinary rock group Gang Gang Dance, in which she serves as the drummer and singer. Their music and performances are characterized by sampling beats and melodies from all musical genres from around the globe, and processing them through synthesizers and computers. The band has become a fixture in New York’s art scene, performing at galleries, museums and art fairs, as well as at clubs and music festivals. The global window installation, which was overseen by Dale Rozmiarek, Senior Vice President, Creative Services, Calvin Klein, Inc., will remain on view through the holidays at freestanding ck Calvin Klein, Calvin Klein Jeans, and Calvin Klein Underwear stores worldwide.
