New In Store – Introducing Look Mate London’s Latest Sock Collaboration with Architects SoHo+Co
This month innovative sock label Look Mate London join forces with London based architecture and design studio SoHo+Co for their latest sock pairing.
The multiple award winning practice SoHo+Co is rooted in the ambiguous, between cultures, scales and disciplines. Their work offers space for delight through offering unscripted, blurred edges and meanings where human interpretation and interaction completes the landscape.
Internationally recognised for the creation of the Japanese inspired Moon Garden in East London and their work on Centre Point and the new Maggie's cancer caring centre in Oldham, duo Tom Holberton and Jasmin Sohi’s first ever sock design draws on their unique philosophy for their striking ‘Meles Meles’ socks, so named after the Latin name for the badger.
An exciting new addition to Look Mate’s sock portfolio for men and women, these architectural socks are designed with proportion and precision referencing the white stripe on the badger’s forehead. SoHo+Co describe their socks “As the antidote to pattern, these badger socks playfully tease with the ambiguous. Bold, monochromatic and abstract, they might just become nocturnal woodland animals on your feet.”
Founded in 2015, Look Mate London’s ethos is to offer “Exquisite socks designed collaboratively” and each and every pair of socks is produced to high standards of craftsmanship from organic combed cotton by second-generation sock makers in Armenia. To purchase the new ‘Meles Meles’ socks visit Look Mate’s e-commerce store at www.lookmate.co.
