The PICCIONE.PICCIONE Spring Summer 2017 collection is the story of an emergence. The world seen from the perspective of those who are underwater and perceive slightly distorted images, more acidic colors, slower movements, but also feel the emotional richness of their surroundings in an authentic way, without filters or protection. And finally decide to come to the surface.
There is a direct reference to Jeffrey Eugenides' book “The Virgin Suicides” and to the 1999 Sophia Coppola's stunning movie: the fragile glass world of four teenagers is irreparably cracked by their parents' wishes to preserve it. Ideally, in the PICCIONE.PICCIONE Spring Summer 2017 collection these girls manage to find their own way into the world and choose not to reject it. Their own dimension, between innocence and reality, reaches an eternal perfection, a status that no longer needs to be overtaken.
“We knew, finally, that the girls were really women in disguise, that they understood love and even death, and that our job was merely to create the noise that seemed to fascinate them.” Jeffrey Eugenides, The Virgin Suicides |
