Ally Capellino returns to clothing with a women’s wool coat of un-dyed Manx and Hebridean wool just in time for wool week. Woven in a diamond pattern on the Isle of Mull, the collarless coat is cut to a kimono shape with fly front, horn buttons, and generous blind stitched pockets. The cotton lining has a concealed breast pocket and there are touches of leather on the neck facing and button stays.
For this range, Ally has also collaborated with, This Is Cambridge who specialise in making handmade cycling caps, ranging from traditional ‘casquettes’, worn by road/racing cyclists to cycling caps inspired by cycling’s lifestyle. They were very excited when approached by Ally Capellino to collaborate on a cap. “There are some nice commonalities in approach between the two brands.” The TIC Omloop winter cap was inspired by the old style Belgium winter wool caps. This collaborative Omloop cap is made from 100% merino wool for the lining and ear band and an exclusive Ally Capellino wool fabric for the outer cap construction. As like all our caps this winter cap is handmade by us in Cambridge. The wool has also been used in two of Ally’s iconic frame bags. As this year Ally Capellino has been chosen as a key ambassador for Campaign for Wool it’s incredibly exciting that this line will be dropping in conjunction with Wool Week (5th-11th October).
