Lyst analysed show reviews, articles, blog posts and social media to build a word-cloud visualisation showcasing the most important menswear talking points for SS16
There were 247 shows and presentations at the Spring/Summer 2016 Men’s Fashion Weeks, spread across 18 days in 4 cities. To sum up the season, Lyst analysed text from more than 2,000 show reviews and articles, given by 260 different publications and blogs globally. The reviews were broken down into their 691,116 component words, and those words were grouped into their unique two-word combinations (bi-grams). Lyst then counted up the most frequently occurring phrases, and used sentiment analysis modelling to build a scale of the most important words of the season. We cross-referenced these results with the most mentioned menswear terms on Twitter and Instagram during the #mensfashionweeks to generate our list of the 100 Menswear Talking Points of Spring/Summer 2016.
