Gudrun Sjödén's Autumn 2014 Collection

For AW'14, Gudrun Sjödén presents a collection inspired by African animals and their patterned shapes: elephants, tigers, giraffes, zebras and hens. The colour palette is inspired by Africa’s warm earthy colours and, as always with Gudrun, the focus is on sustainable materials.

“Of course there are incredibly beautiful patterns to be found in nature, my inexhaustible source of inspiration! It was wonderful for me to be able to really get stuck into all these patterned shapes that have styled the African savannahs’ animals in such a decorative way. I felt right away that these patterns had to appear in their natural environment, so Burkina Faso became the location for this autumn’s photo shoot and campaign,” says Gudrun Sjödén, founder and creative director.

The Gudrun Sjödén company was founded in 1976. The company’s business idea is to offer colorful fashion and home textiles in unique, individual designs. The idea of sustainable designs in nature’s own materials is the reason why Gudrun Sjödén creates clothing. Today, Gudrun sells her colorful designs to customers in 52 countries around the world – partly through her own stores, but also via her inspiring mail order catalogs and incredibly beautiful webshop. Today the company has 19 stores – six in Sweden, seven in Germany, two in Norway and one each in Copenhagen, Helsinki, New York and London.
