THE TRUE COST OF BUYING SHOES ON THE HIGH STREET

The true cost of buying shoes on the high street

I'm the proud owner of 138 pairs of shoes, that's right 138 pairs of shoes I've been collecting selling and replenishing for years ... Shoes are my thing!  My collection consists on Gucci, Paul smith, Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and I go right down to Converse and everything in between so I don't discriminate if I like it I will buy it ...

I think it's fair to say with my work, blog etc I get notoriety and of course with that I get things sent to me to wear to parties etc or do outfit posts which I need to do more of just saying ... With pair 134 I'm not going to name any names as that's not what my blog is about but I will be keeping an eye on the brand and quizzing people also ... Going back to the subject 134 were so stunning off the high street and I couldn't wait to wear them... I wore them to a major party in London in JANUARY they looked good and lived up to the brands DNA ... The next time I wore them was for London Fashion week I decided these would be my main shoes as they were comfortable and stylish but after day one my little toe started itching ... I thought nothing of this ... Day two it started itching more and by day four I was limping I still didn't think nothing of it until I visited the doctor and he advised me I have a very bad case of athletes foot .... The worse he's ever seen!!  Now all those fabulous designer shoes I have I can't wear them as my foot is constantly swollen ...

This made me look up and pay attention and ask what is actually been sold to the consumer on the high street ... Now there's some great high street brands Dune, Bertie, Most brands stocked at Schuh ... But looking around on social media platforms such as Instagram and twitter I see guys and girls posting "had to do it bought new shoes from XXXX brand and for £30!! Bargain!! Yes it is but look at the price you pay for said bargain ... The main flaw in the bargain is there's not a bit of leather in sight  ... Leather helps your feet breathe and you have an all round better experience wearing them ... Now for the thing that gave me athletes foot ... Man made uppers and soles ... Your feet sweats and you end up having an all
round squelchy experience ...  So it's fine having x amount of shoes but make sure they are quality and think feet maintenance first rather than that bargain for £15

Just thought I would give you an heads up on the price some of us pay for wearing high street shoes as looking around some retailers are quite coy and don't actually mention what they are made of ... there's one major Hugh street brand who just have little transparent stickers on and most of the stickers were on the floor not on the shoes so all you basically see when you look at them is the price in big letters!!  ... I realise we don't all have the same budgets but great shoes can be bought from just about everywhere but be careful of the man made fibres ... The shoes were gifted to me and I'm now paying a heavy price and somehow £600 for a pair of good quality shoes seems a small price to pay!
