You don’t need to head to the new Regent Street UK flagship store to pick up the must-have brand of the season and favourite of Michelle Obama, J. Crew. With ShopStyle, web or mobile shoppers can search and shop must-have garments and accessories from collections worldwide.
Leading online shopping search site ShopStyle has been observing traffic and search terms for J. Crew in the week since its UK launch. Shoppers have been mostly searching for specific wardrobe classics such as the J. Crew Ludlow skirt – a timeless pencil skirt made with luxurious merino wool, or the classic trench coat, made from Japanese cotton.
According to Sian O’Flaherty, Online Shopping Expert at ShopStyle: “This month at ShopStyle we have detected a spike in search terms for J. Crew products; savvy fashion hunters are really demonstrating their familiarity with the collections by searching for specific named items. Its early days for J. Crew in the UK, but the signs suggest that a key piece from a J. Crew collection is a sound investment indeed, even if we might be investing a little more than US customers.”
Sian says: “The fashion world was really buzzing after the announcement that we in the UK were to get our very own J. Crew store in London. The store wholly represents J. Crew’s luxe, sophisticated styling with preppy Columbia colours synonymous with their Broadway New York home. Perhaps, before long our investments will pay off and we’ll get another store. We’re in the midst of a bit of an American invasion from the likes of Kate Spade as well, her pop up just opened in Selfridges, and her kitsch clutches and girly glitter seems to have really struck a chord for Christmas.”
ShopStyle has recently noticed resurgence in the demand for the more designer end of the high street, primarily thanks to labels and fashion houses producing collections that are more affordable to the majority. On the contrary, J. Crew’s successes have enabled the brand do the opposite and produce more exclusive collections and we expect to see their popularity continue to soar.
