TISSOT - Two-Times Winner Of The International Timing Competition in the "Classic – Enterprise category"

Tissot, two-times winner of the International Timing Competition in the Classic – Enterprise category

The prizes of the International Timing Competition were awarded last night at the Time Museum of Besançon, in the name of precision perfection and expertise in the watchmaking arena, specifically in the domain of contemporary mechanical timing. Tissot SA was already awarded first place in 2011 for the “Classic – Enterprise” category. This year, the brand proved itself again as an expert in its field by winning it once more, in addition to also receiving the second place.

Following scientific, technical and cultural procedures that were carried out in official certified laboratories of Besançon’s Observatory and by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (Swiss Official Controlling of Timing) in Bienne as well as being exposed to particularly tough magnetic fields and shocks at the Haute Ecole Arc in le Locle, the jury revealed the great winners of the Enterprise categories – Ecole, Classic and Tourbillons.

Derived from the Tissot T-Complication collection, the leader of this year’s « Classic » category, portrays the innovative and traditional values of the brand. It celebrates the art of watchmaking and more particularly, Tissot’s 160 years of expertise in that area. As such, this watch is symbolic to the Tissot classic range. The second prize was awarded to a piece derived from the same collection and demonstrates the consistency of quality of the Tissot products.

Tissot is accustomed to participating in timing contests and already in 1884, the company received first place for their pocket watch timing movement. These contests allow the brand to keep reaching further and push their limits in terms of the quality of their products as well as proving themselves as a brand in a competitive market.

Francois Thiébaud, the Tissot President emphasises « Receiving this award is a great honor for us. It confirms a know-how developed over multiple centuries, which allows the Swiss watchmaking industry to excel. We would like to thank everyone that contributed to that success, within Tissot, the Swatch group and within other contributing enterprises. »

Today, Tissot continues more dynamic and motivated than ever on the watchmaking path, gaining priceless knowledge every single day after 160 years of history, which was celebrated this year worldwide, remembering the good old times that brought them where they presently stand when producing jewels such as these.
