From the family Knitwear Company that produced the first ever cable knit sweater and with over a century of British heritage, Alan Paine was born in September 1907, the second son of William Paine. William discovered some hand knitting machines in an old warehouse and taught himself to knit and within a few years his hobby became a successful business.

Alan Paine soon became a favourite of the Prince of Wales, who later became King Edward VIII. They have now given a modern but classic take on the Long Sleeve Polo, a man’s staple wardrobe piece the modern gent of today.
