Taking its reference from this season’s inspirational look book imagery, photographed by Peter Lippmann, the windows bring to life his whimsical depictions of a fantasy !shing scene whereby key Spring Summer 2013 styles are caught by the dangling lines.
Dominating the displays are bespoke oversized stackable sardine cans acting as a backdrop whilst the partially opened can provides an area for product display. Chrome plated exteriors and brass plated interiors complement the spiked hardware on the product, and contribute a depth and vitality to the display. The custom made cans are embossed with the signature Christian Louboutin red sole.
To complement the theme, further components inspired by the season’s imagery have been developed such as an oversized single fishing hook, traditional three-pronged hook and large metallic fly rings. Anchored by colourful PVC tubing and rope and suspended from ceiling height, they re-create a fishing line with product dangling below as the enticing fly bait. These smaller components also give opportunity to continue the display in secondary windows where they provide a smaller stage.
For the first time the window design has been rolled out in a 360 degree communication strategy, with all Christian Louboutin digital platforms reflecting the new designs. Visitors to www.christianlouboutin.com are greeted by giant, swinging fishing hooks laden with new season shoes and bags. Catches of the day include the Panettone bag and spiked, Druide sandals - each presented in animated motion. The brand’s social media platforms also reflect the design. Facebook and Twitter, and the newly launched Weibo, Youku and Tudou profiles present fans with a swinging hook motive, as well as an exploration into the details of the windows.
