Following the success of Palladium’s city exploring short films, the heritage boot brand announces the launch of its Spring 2013 campaign featuring UK-based songstress Eliza Doolittle. The campaign, entitled Battersea: Power of London, follows the singer-songwriter as she hits the streets of London to explore the iconic Battersea Power Station which has been abandoned for decades. The print and online campaign is comprised of a short film led by Eliza as well as a selection of images that capture the exploration of this London landmark. The Battersea: Power of London film debuts on March 26, 2013 at www.palladiumboots.com.

“Eliza caught our eye as she’s been wearing Palladium boots around London and we knew she would be the ideal explorer for our next film,” said Barney Waters, vice president of marketing for Palladium. “She has a unique style that complements our boots perfectly and a natural curiosity and sense of adventure, key things we look for in our city explorers.”

Once a symbol of Britain’s power, the Battersea Power Station is one of London’s best known landmarks and cemented its place in pop culture as the cover art for Pink Floyd’s Animals album in 1977The landmark has also served as a backdrop in countless films, including The King’s Speech and Guy Ritchie’s RocknRolla. On her journey, Eliza joins co-host Remi Kabaka Jr. of the Gorillaz to explore the historic location for the last time before the building undergoes restoration. Under the expansive redevelopment terms, she discovers that the Battersea site will restore its power station and the area will undergo major construction, ushering in a new cultural hub for the local community.

During her exploration, Eliza wears boots from Palladium’s Spring/Summer 2013 Enzyme Washed Collection, sporting three colorways of the Pallabrouse Baggy silhouette: Vapor-Metal, Old Rose-Vapor and Almond Buff. The Enzyme Washed Collection features stonewashed canvas uppers and burnished outsoles to create a vintage, worn-in aesthetic. The collection maintains traditional Palladium details, including a rubber toe cap and a durable rubber outsole. A hugging heel cup and padded EVA sockliner provide further durability and comfort. The Enzyme Washed Collection is available for men and women in Palladium’s iconic Pampa Hi and Baggy silhouettes and ranges in price from $70.00- $85.00.

The Battersea: Power of London campaign will run from March 26, 2013 until Fall 2013 and will appear in print publications such as NYLON, Grazia and UK versions of ELLE, Glamour and Marie Claire. Online advertisements will appear on sites including: Digital SpyPop Justice, The Guardian, among others. The campaign was created with agency partner Virtue, part of Vice Media, and the Battersea: Power of London film was directed by Virtue’s Thalia Mavros. Battersea: Power of London is part of an ongoing series of urban explorations from Palladium, with past ventures visiting Tokyo with Pharrell Williams and Detroit with Johnny Knoxville, among others.
