Charlie le Mindu presents his first collection during Paris Couture Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2013 signaling the return of Hatue Coiffure to it’s rightful home. Known to applying real human hair as a textile within luxury fashion, le Mindu blends the roles of couturier and hairdresser often with controversial or unexpected subject matter to disarming effect. This first dedicated couture collection is inspired by clichés of Haute Couture – the pose of a model, the placement of a hand. Referencing the excess, the glamour, the power and sexuality of high-octane 1980’s fashion, the collection drives right to the heart of Haute Couture in modern sensibilities.
Charlie le Mindu holds the prestigious position of Avant-Garde Creative Director for Hair within Harrods’ Urban Retreat Spa and is available for private appointment and consultation as a part of their Elite Styling Team. He continues to be supported by Hairdreams - a leading worldwide provider of real hair extensions, and serves as an Ambassador for L’Oreal Professionel in France launching Salon quality Hair Spray in partnership with the company in 2012.
French born Charlie le Mindu studied at the French Hair Academy before pioneering pop-up salons in the nightclubs of Berlin. Charlie le Mindu has worked with photographers Ellen von Unwerth, David Simms and Nick Knight amongst others for high profile editorials and now shoots for Vogue as a hair stylist. An ever-growing celebrity client list includes some of the biggest names in art, music and design and Charlie continues to exhibit his work in prestigious locations internationally including most recently during Couture Fashion Week at the Cartier Institute in Paris.
