One Festive Season At One Aldwych

One Aldwych hotel celebrates the holiday season with festive delights for all the family. Guests are greeted in the Lobby Bar by a glorious 25 foot tall Christmas tree featuring 100 supersize gingerbread figures against a background of white dogwood, glitter twigs and twinkling clear fairy lights. This stunning wintry confection is created by One Aldwych florist Mark Siredzuk in collaboration with the hotel’s neighbour “London’s local bakery” Konditor & Cook.

The Lobby Bar carries on this gingerbread spirit with a new festive Sugar & Spice Afternoon Tea. Begin with a warming mulled wine shot and enjoy the treats that follow - creamy mandarin trifle, chestnut delice, eggnog mousse with gingerbread crumbs, mince crumble tart and almond truffles with winter spices. Irresistible warm cranberry scones are served with home-made plum jam and Devonshire clotted cream and warm crumpets with lemon curd. Tea sandwiches have been given a seasonal twist with gourmet fillings such as turkey and stuffing with cranberry relish, smoked salmon on mustard and dill bread and classic egg mayonnaise on a bridge roll. Perfectly presented chipolatas wrapped in bacon and stilton and walnut quiche round off the occasion.

The Lobby Bar serves new Winter Warmers cocktails throughout the frostier months. A welcome alternative to the traditional hot toddy and liqueur coffees, these Lobby Bar cold weather cocktails have a double warming sensation due to the alcohol which is gently steamed. They include Hot Apple Strudel, Mulled Ginger & Pear, Hot Harvey and Chocolate Confusion.

Start the party season with a sparkle and enjoy a festive menu in the company of friends, family or colleagues in One Aldwych’s Axis and Indigo restaurants. Executive Chef Dominic Teague has created a classic menu of pumpkin velouté, duxelles and aged parmesan followed by traditional roast turkey with chestnut stuffed leg, parsnips and cranberry sauce. Of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without an indulgent Christmas pudding with brandy custard. Indigo serves a special Christmas lunch and evening menu, as well as a sensational New Year’s Eve Tasting Menu.

For those seemingly hard-to-buy-for family and friends, One Aldwych has created thoughtful gift vouchers for over twenty experiences - from drinks and dining to accommodation and Health Club spa days. Vouchers are presented in an attractive over-size gift wallet and start at £45 for One Great Evening – Champagne (two glasses of Champagne and delicious bar food in the fabulous Lobby Bar) and run to £630 for One Great Night (accommodation in a Deluxe Room for two with flowers, Champagne, dinner and breakfast). Film fans will appreciate a gift voucher for Martini Movies (a film & martini in the luxury screening room plus three-course dinner in Axis restaruant, £95.00 for two people).
