OLIVER SPENCER Spring/Summer 13: London Collections

OLIVER SPENCER Spring/Summer 13: London Collections.

Oliver Spencer presented his collection at the Old Sorting Office on Friday 15 June, as part of the inaugural London Collections: Men Spring/Summer 2013.

Inspired by Russian modernism and the work of painter Ben Nicholson, Spencer presented a refined collection of tailoring, knitwear and jersey pieces styled in a colour palette of cobalt blue, burnt orange and racing green; showcased against the raw setting, the Old Sorting Office added an edge, creating a strong and dramatic feel to Spencer’s summer story.

Spencer was bold with his flashes of colour; an injection of yellow or green gave suits a strong contemporary finish and a consistent vibrancy to his overall aesthetic. A burnt orange mac and Cobalt blue suiting pieces stood out on the catwalk.

An unlined Portland jacket made an accomplished appearance, along with a Runswick stone gilet. The Fisher Jacket positively shone in the spotlight, with a bold Azure blue lining and a coated fabric finish.

Footwear, such as the new lace-less grain derby shoes, subtly showcased Oliver’s attention to detail and design craftsmanship.

Synonymous with Oliver’s runways shows, an eclectic mix of street cast models walked the runway including Topman’s Gordon Richardson, who showcased the Byron navy Travel Jacket, the number one best selling item in the collection.

Celebrity attendees included Alexa Chung, Dermot O’Leary, David Gandy, Ben Fogle, TV presenter Reggie Yates and actor Oliver Jackson-Cohen.
