Last night, the 24th June 2012, Belstaff presented its Menswear SS13 collection in Milan at their showroom......
“ I wanted to express in this collection a new language for a modern man who is, at the essence, the luxury global traveler.” – Martin Cooper, Chief Creative Officer, Belstaff
For the Belstaff Spring/Summer 2013 Menswear collection, Chief Creative Officer, Martin Cooper was inspired by the romanticism of global travel. In keeping with the brand’s history there is a prominent focus on the outerwear. Within the collection there are strong archival references that Cooper has reinvented by modernizing the fit and mixing unexpected materials, such as cotton with waxed crocodile or linen with suede. References to vintage travel cases are found in the leather belts and collars that are bonded to a linen raffia trench coat and a linen canvas Trialmaster jacket.
A paper-thin leather jacket bonded to poplin rolls up perfectly for travel from city to country and an oversized summer parka with a button out wool warmer adapts to the climates.
Crocheted knitwear made of pure silk takes on the appearance of rich mélange linen in neutral desert inspired hues. The classic trouser has been reinterpreted in a bright indigo python and the signature Trialmaster jacket, in addition to the classic waxed cotton and oiled leather has been created in a matte white crocodile for the modern, luxury traveler.
The ready-to-wear, outerwear and accessories feature a natural color palette of olive, terracotta and pale stone with bursts of dusty yellow, burnished brown and bright chambray blue. Heritage and modernity.
