fashion concept monki creates photo app giveaway for its customers
On the 1st of March, international fashion concept Monki will release their first ever smartphone app. “Monki Mi” is a free photo booth app, inspired by the Japanese purikura trend. It is designed to let the user monkify herself with crazy effects like huge eyes, super-smooth skin and stamps.
“We believe the world needs a bit more pure fun!” says Monki head of communication Eleonore Nygårds, the creative dynamo behind Monki’s digital development. “Or, from our perspective: it needs a bit more monkiness.”
Having fun with fashion has been the guiding-star for the project, that, apart from traditional cartoon-like stamps and more or less crazy make-up effects feature a photographed selection from the Monki SS12 accessories collection. Monki Mi was created for IOS+, which means that it can be used on iPhone 4 (or an up-graded iPhone 3) as well as iPad.
“Our fans have enabled us to grow from three to 54 stores in just a five years. And to open an online store in 18 countries! That’s amazing. Monki Mi is our way of reaching as many of our customers as possible to say thanks! And give them big eyes and bowler hats...” says Eleonore Nygårds.
MONKI IS: a flirt between street style and Scandinavian fashion sense. Prices range from €3-130.
MONKI IS FOR: people wanting to express and be more of themselves.
MONKI DOES: Collaborating with creative Monki girls like Susie Bubble, Les Mads, Indigo Clarke, Eleanor Hardwick and Mademoiselle Robot is part of the Monki Way.
