SWATCH IS EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE ITS NEW COLLECTION OF TOUCH SCREEN WATCHES – IN STORES 1 OCTOBER 2011
SWATCH PRESENTS SWATCH TOUCH – STREET SMART FASHION WITH COLOUR TOUCH DISPLAYS
Swiss fashion brand Swatch presents Swatch Touch, a colourful new collection of trend-setting timekeepers with big-screen LCD dials and a touch-sensitive zone in place of pushbuttons. Available in six different colour waves; camouflage, black, white, turquoise, pink and purple.
On the style front, Swatch Touch brings streetwise fashion to the wrist, showing inspiration from urban rhythms and electric sounds, boarders up on snow and surf, riders taking life to extremes.
The touch screen gives access to six digital functions: time (2 zones, t1 & t2), date, chrono, alarm, timer and beep. Users sweep through the functions with ease using finger-taps and sideways scrolls—no pushbuttons and can activate the screen’s built-in backlight to assure readability under all conditions. Revealing Swiss-made quality throughout, Swatch Touch curved plastic glass display and coloured LCD present Arabic numerals in a big, stylish font designed to fit the shape of the watch.
By far the biggest numerals on the Swatch Touch screen are the seconds: animated like the seconds hand on an analogue watch, they are constantly changing, alive, giving rhythm and a pulse to life in the digital age. The digital numerals are set off against a solid colour background and feature colour-matched plastic cases and silicone straps.
RRP £100

Short film on Artist Jack Greer for ASOS
VICE and ASOS went looking for the most interesting young people in London, New York, Berlin and Paris. Unsurprisingly, we found that they all spend little time worrying about what their contemporaries are doing, and instead focus on making their own way in the world with a zeal that would make an oil rig worker blush.
In our first film we met a skateboarding entrepreneur called Lev Tanju and in this second film, we meet New York artist and designer Jack Greer at his Brooklyn based studio. A member of the emerging Still House Group, New York's most exciting up-and-coming art scene, Jack spends his time surrounded by his buddies, doing what he loves best: hanging out in his city and working on his art. He gives us a glimpse of this laidback lifestyle, discussing what defines his playful aesthetic and how creativity has shaped his life.
You can watch the film about Jack here: http://www.vice.com/en_uk/asos-urban-tour/nyc-jack-greer and the first film of the series is over at Asos.com/Urban-Tour

Robert Wilson Birthday Presented by Montblanc
Robert Wilson Birthday Presented by Montblanc
On 29th September, Montblanc will present Robert Wilson's 70th birthday by supporting Voluptuous Panic, an art performance, auction and birthday dinner in Berlin benefitting the Watermill Center. Robert Wilson - director, visual artist, designer and cultural visionary - is a long-time friend of Montblanc. He has put his creative genius to work on numerous occasions to help bring to life the world of the international luxury brand.
Earlier this month, on September 8th 2011, at the global launch of the Montblanc “Collection Princesse Grace de Monaco”, Robert Wilson presented “Grace for Grace” a theatrical journey in three parts that tells the story of the incredible Princess Grace of Monaco's life from young actress to princess. The show staged at the Opera de Monte Carlo in the presence of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco and Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco, brings the 20th century icon to life with the elegance and style that she was recognized for. Great performers from opera star Diana Damrau to singer/songwriters Martha & Rufus Wainwright, from Bryn Terfel to Shenyang, all acted out this visual feast, lending their incredible talent to Wilson's inspiring vision.
Montblanc is very proud of its ongoing relationship with Robert Wilson, which goes far beyond a creative working relationship. It is a true friendship and a special bond. Wilson has used his unique talent of creating visual magic to bring the Montblanc brand to life, to dramatize the craft that Montblanc has become synonymous with over the past century, demonstrating his understanding of the Maison's ideals.
Prior to the Monaco launch, Wilson created “Writing Time” at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2008 in Geneva. The multimedia performance, set to the haunting music of his friend Philip Glass, celebrated the launch of the Montblanc Star Nicolas Rieussec Monopusher Chronograph, Montblanc's Chronograph with its first own in-house movement. 1000 guests were astounded by the breathtaking beauty of this spectacle, drawn into the centre of a working watch.
Robert Wilson has been an international juror for the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award a record four times, underscoring his dedication in recognizing modern day patrons whose commitment, both financial and personal commitment keeps arts alive, even in challenging times.
