Jil Sander Women’s Spring/Summer 2011

Shocking Pink, Purple and Magenta, bright coral Red, electric Blue, toxic Green, Yellow and Orange – the arresting colours of the Jil Sander house.

The language of couture – form, proportion, length and volume – inspires a new silhouette, a bold shape with ease.

Oversizing, layering, maximizing renovates the outlook, combining full length skirts and dresses as well as ample trousers with plain t-shirts, jackets and parkas.

Long dresses derived from t-shirts and tank-tops, super-sized, elongated and voluminous. Floor-length skirts with a couturish note enter as easy daywear. Unrestricted with comfort.

Bold vertical and horizontal stripes, either knitted or woven, and floral prints breaking the solid chromatic palette. Fluor tapes graphically structure coats, mini dresses and skirts.

A multitude of trousers – super-sized and pleated – are juxtaposed with frilled miniature skirts or layered with drawstring waist tubes. Alternating proportions – streamlined and roomy – renew the outwear combinations.

Oversized blousons and windbreakers, rich in texture, and floating full length parkas in light techno fabric amplify a strong, comforting mood.

Colour appears brighter than ever before, boldly defining the look. The fluorescent hues disperse into meringue and white.

Engineered fabrics and advanced finishing techniques enhance the colour to its maximum brightness. Cotton silk blends, techno taffeta, silky nylon as well as techno-gabardines with a papery hand maintain volume and the richness of tint.

Shoppers and hand bags in a multitude of materials, patterns and colours are randomly layered.

Colour also identifies the eyewear: amplified dimensions of mirror lenses, double framed with super-light metal.

The shoes – pumps, sling-backs or sandals – give a glimpse of fluorescent glossed soles.
