DOLCE&GABBANA TO DRESS MATTHEW MORRISON FOR 2011 INTERNATIONAL CONCERT TOUR
(April 19, 2011 - Milan, Italy) Dolce&Gabbana announced today that they will exclusively outfit Matthew Morrison for this summer's highly anticipated Matthew Morrison 2011 International Tour beginning June 6 in Dublin, Ireland and ending July 23 in Los Angeles, California.
"We are excited to collaborate with Matthew on his new venture. We have been following him since the early "Glee" days and think he is incredibly talented and has the charisma and style of old Hollywood leading men." Domenico Dolce e Stefano Gabbana
While details about Morrison's tour looks are still under wraps, the artist promises several outfit changes and an exciting evening of songs comprised from his new album and "Glee" fan favorites.
"It is an honor for me to have designers that I admire as much as Domenico and Stefano help bring my stage show to life," said Morrison.
Matthew Morrison is best known to millions as the eternally optimistic high school teacher - and de facto glee club director - Will Schuester, on the FOX television network's runaway hit comedy series "Gke". The show ranks as the #1 entertainment program on broadcast television among Adults 18-34, Teens and Female Teens.
Morrison has been nominated for Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe awards, and shared the 2009 SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Award for Best Performance by an Ensemble in a Television Series - Comedy or Musical, for "Glee".
Morrison is no stranger to musical theatre, vocal performance and dance, which he studied at New York University's renowned Tisch School of the Arts. His first big Broadway break came as heartthrob Link Larkin in the hit Hairspray. Morrison was later nominated for a Tony Award for his role in The Light in the Piazza. He received a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Musical for 10 Million Miles. Morrison also starred in the Tony Award-winning revival of South Pacific at New York's Lincoln Center Theater. A California native, Morrison divides his time between Los Angeles and New York
