Tom Dixon Sandwich Opens at London's Harrods #MUST SEE

TOM DIXON SANDWICH OPENS AT LONDON'S HARRODS

From the humble medieval trencher to the sophisticated 18th century reworking by the notorious Earl, through to the worker's ploughman's lunch or the cricketer's cucumber variety, the sandwich is deeply embedded in the British soul. It is only fitting that it should find its luxurious incarnation in Harrods, within a suitably palatial interior designed by Design Research Studio, the interior arm of Tom Dixon – opening October 2014.

The Design

The 152 m2 space takes inspiration from classical London club interiors using hues such as deep green, dark blue and rich burgundy. The brand new sandwich bar has been refashioned as an unusually chic and comfortable bolthole to complement the acres of astonishing retail within the world renowned department store.

Tom Dixon Sandwich is furnished with the latest innovations in brass lighting and deeply upholstered club chairs, marble clad tables and pierced metal screens, all from the Tom Dixon collection and previously unseen. The result is a gastronomic oasis literally sandwiched between the two Tom Dixon furniture concessions on the third floor.
