Chester Barrie has taken inspiration from resort dressing for Spring Summer ’15 as it looks to expand the range of its collection beyond formalwear and develops its reputation as Tailors of the Unexpected.
With silhouettes inspired by the 1930s and styling borrowed from the 60s and 70s Chester Barrie has produced a rich mix of colours and dress codes worthy of a party on the Riviera.
Of course, tailoring still plays a major role. The wedding suit is prominent and checks are particularly strong for the business suit. Meanwhile, the classic Chester Barrie silhouette has been realised, with the help of consultant Edward Sexton, in a new low-buttoning double breasted model for a more relaxed take on the traditional blazer. Available in Campari red or French navy this investment piece is a certain way to introduce subtle drama to your wardrobe for the summer ahead.
In the more relaxed areas of the collection, shawl collar jackets appear in richly hued cotton madras and are off-set by washed but classically cut shorts. Tropical shirts add an injection of colour under unconstructed jackets.
Party pieces continue into the collection with sports jackets in teal and playful blue worn over bold plaid shirts. Knitwear is also introduced for Spring Summer ‘15 with a collection of cable knit jumpers, which will prove invaluable during transition month.
