Custo Barcelona SS 15 #NYFW

Geometric cut outs and subtle transparencies in a range of textiles, from ultra-light linens to flowy silks, are strategically arranged on the sides and backs of garments to create an optical illusion of depth, the underlying silhouette and ultimately the skin beneath. For Spring 2015 the designer continues their juxtaposition of colors, prints and textiles, while introducing the geometric cut outs and openings that allow the sweet, seductive side of women to show through.

The colors this season evoke the fresh and sweet tastes of mint, apricot, lemon, cherry, and strawberries & cream. Other colors make reference to sensations such as the ocean’s breeze against the skin or the sight of a dramatic sunrise. Together, the colors this season represent a sweetness in the atmosphere that caress the skin with seduction.
While staying true to their essence, Custo Barcelona unveils looks enhanced by intricate cutwork and uniquely textured appliqués. Continuing to play with exquisite and delicate detailing, this ode to sensuality gives way to the sweeter side of femininity.

Sensually short babydoll dresses create a geometric base for the cropped jackets and vests. The miniskirts and shorts that fall from the hip are cut in evasee, adorned with dreamy lace and exquisite silks in snakeskin patterns, like the straight cut trousers.  These are paired with loose-fitting sweats with touches of geometric designs and understated bandeau tops. Each look in the women’s collection is paired with sandals and square-heeled booties.

The inspiration for sporty and knitwear is introduced as a more innovative option for outerwear, otherwise known as street underwear

The men’s collection evokes a crafty masculine vibe, one that embodies both casual-chic as well as a more laidback feel, courtesy of the light-knit loose-fitted pants, ultra-light artisanal linen jackets, t-shirts and sweats with appliqués combined with neon sporty bags with appealing satin handles. The Custo man appreciates the quality of the natural knits and the contemporary textures, he also prefers a more relaxed fit presented in monochromatic tones reminiscent of the aromas of anise, toffee and pistachio. For him, the footwear range from brogues to sneakers.
Spring/Summer 2015 by Custo Barcelona smartly unveils hidden treasures, layering softly and uncovering the skin.
